We’re proud to present our next event of 2023, our Spooktastic Animal Encounters Wild Science Activity Day!
Join us on Friday 27th October 2023 at Great Leighs Village Hall for a fun packed, scary, wild day! This is an exciting opportunity for your child(ren) to experience Animals up close and interact with them. The opportunity, depending on which session you choose, will experience Fun and Mad science experiments under supervision of trained professionals.
This will be a sell out event as we bring our friends over from Wild Science for some Spooktastic Animal encounters and Wild Science! Amongst this, we of course will have lots of other things on including:
Monster Mashup Disco
Spooky Bingo
Fun Games and Competitions
Refreshments
Crafts
Prize for Best Dressed – Wear your spookiest costume!
Pumpkin Carving Competition – we want to see your best carving that you’ve done at home, make sure you bring your carved pumpkin to be judged!
Frightening Face Painting (Optional Additional fee on the day)
AM Session
In the AM session, we’ll start with the Monster Mashup disco, your child can craft, have fun and play some games from 10am, We’ll be playing some Spooky Bingo, then at 12, Wild Science will join us for the Animal Encounters Segment to finish off the session at 1pm. We’ll also have prizes for best dressed too!
PM Session
In the PM Session, Wild Science will be starting the session with some Fun Science Experiments! Their segment will finish at 3pm and we carry on the session with the Monster Mashup Disco, Crafting, playing games, Spooky Bingo and much more!
Animal Encounters – AM Session Only
In this workshop we discuss and display a wide variety of different animals whilst giving the children the chance to touch, hold and interact with them used in this session. A mix of Mammals, Reptiles/Amphibians and Invertebrates are used for this topic.
Wild Science – PM Session Only
Get ready for a science show like no other!
Our experienced educators will guide the children through a series of fun and interactive experiments that are sure to captivate and inspire.
One of the highlights of the workshop is the use of dry ice, a fascinating substance that creates clouds of cool, billowing fog when mixed with water. Students will learn about the properties of dry ice and its role in science, as well as its safety precautions.
But that’s not all! Our workshop includes other exciting experiments that involve fizzy reactions, where students will mix different substances to create a reaction that bubbles and fizzes. They will learn about the science behind these reactions and have a blast doing it.
